One stable function of an EGI organisation is related to the operational aspects of the European Grid Infrastructure.

An EGI could have its own resources, with its own personnel; plus it might be involved in at least some aspects of the operations of its member NGIs.

The chart to the right represents ratings by the NGIs from early 2007 on the importance of this function. Below is stub for a more articulated evaluation of the operational aspects of EGI.
