Coordination of infrastructure operations
From EGI Knowledge Base
One stable function of an EGI organisation is related to the operational aspects of the European Grid Infrastructure.
An EGI could have its own resources, with its own personnel; plus it might be involved in at least some aspects of the operations of its member NGIs.
The chart to the right represents ratings by the NGIs from early 2007 on the importance of this function. Below is stub for a more articulated evaluation of the operational aspects of EGI.

[edit] Central operation/execution
In addition to coordinating and interacting with Regional Operations Centres, EGI could have its own operations centre with its own resources. One possible model for this is given by the EGEE project.
